Resizing Digital Images

Image resizing remains a persistent challenge for some members. Despite good intentions, a significant number of submitted images are still being resized incorrectly, especially for the PSA Interclub competitions, which results in files that exceed dimension limits and are ultimately rejected. This article, originally published in the December, 2023 issue of Exposure by Greg Smith, shows you how to properly resize your images to fit into the canvas of 1920 x 1080 pixels mandated by PSA. This is acceptable for club competitions as well, although setting the longest dimension (width or, for portraits, height) to 1920 pixels is commonly used and is tolerated. That won’t work for most PSA images, however! Methods using Lightroom Classic, Photoshop, Windows OS photo app, and Mac iOS are discussed. Members must be signed in to view the link.
