Greetings...the below arrived in our inbox and we thought you the membership might benefit from hearing of this opportunity...
Hello Fellow Photogs,
This is Amber Kissner, photo editor at Utah Life Magazine. First, I wanted to e-introduce myself. I’m taking over for Josh Hardin, who has been the longtime editor. He will be missed but is still going to contribute to writing and photographing features.
We like to keep our contributing photographers informed about the images we're seeking through occasional emails sent every few months. As we’re moving into the fall season, we’d love you to submit your fall photos to the magazine.
We’d like you to send images of fall you might already have in your catalogue, but also please keep your eyes open for taking new fall images for potential use in 2024.
Fall leaves and landscapes are great, but we also need images of fall festivals, fall harvest, wildlife and people out enjoying the season. Send us your photos by the first week of December.
Sept/Oct 2023 Issue
In addition, we’re also actively seeking images for Sept/Oct issue that align with these subjects and would appreciate you checking your archives for the following:
- Moose
- Needs to be fall specific.
- Extra credit for wide shots to show landscape.
- Secret Fall Photo Spots
- This story is still developing and we’re hoping the photos will guide our angle.
- Rock Art
- Central Utah/San Rafael Swell
- Historic Rockville Bridge
- Monumental Exposure
- Theme: “Fall Adventure”
- The winner receives $150
Looking ahead to winter, here are some types of imagery we would like to see:
- Photos of people, especially those hiking, snowshoeing or doing other outdoor activities in the park would be extremely helpful.
- Landscapes are always welcome
- Fall festivals
To submit, please send low-resolution preview images to me by email, by file sharing site like Dropbox/Google Drive/WeTransfer links to online galleries are ideal.
If you have any questions about delivery methods, please don’t hesitate to contact me. If chosen for the magazine, we’ll ask for high resolution digital copies of images for publication. We pay for any images used. Please visit: https://coloradolifemagazine.com/contribute/ for our terms if you wish to know more.
Note: The website is being updated, so please send submissions to me at
As always, if you have suggestions for stories that Utah Life Magazine should cover, or ideas for projects that you would like to photograph for us, we’d love to hear your story queries and pitches. Thank you once again and we look forward to seeing your photos!
Best,
Amber Kissner
