Speeding with the Wasatch Camera Club
Drive (but don’t speed) out to the Bonneville Salt Flats, on Saturday, September 11, 2021. You’ll have a chance to view and photograph vehicles of all types and sizes as they attempt to go faster than they’ve ever gone before and faster than anyone has ever gone before.
This event is hosted by the Utah Salt Flats Racing Association (USFRA). Vehicles and drivers from all over the country participate. Vehicles speed along the course at 70mph to over 200mph and take the shape of barstools and super sleek speed demons powered by jet fuel. You’ll also have a chance to photograph the vehicles, drivers and crew in the pit areas. The Bonneville Salt Flats is one of the few places in the world that offers a flat enough, smooth enough and long enough course for these cars to attempt their records.
As with any event in the desert, you’ll need to attend to your own personal needs. Umbrellas, wide brimmed hats, sunscreen, and lots of water are a few things to not forget.
This is a Wasatch Camera Club sponsored field trip and is open to current members only. Registration is required. There will not be a fee charged by the club, but the USFRA will be charging a $20 fee to enter the race course grounds.
