Barbara Phillips, founder of Saving Gracie, and her husband, Mike, found their way to Wanship in 2005, purchasing 4,000 acres that would eventually hold the The Lodge at Blue Sky. But before the boutique hotel and venue were developed, they started by offering horseback adventures and experiences from the property. Saving Gracie Equine Healing Foundation was founded in 2014 and is a rescue/sanctuary for horses, but Barbara has found space for other animals such as some goats, cows, a bunny and some miniature horses. She has generously agreed to host our crew and share some amazing stories with us on some of these beautiful animals. She will start us off with an introduction and then walk us around the property so we can get some incredible photos. We are also able to walk around on our own as well if we choose to avoid the guided tour. The property is beautiful, and there is plenty of acreage to cover if you want to roam and get creative with your photography. Bring your tissues on this one as some of the stories might shock and surprise you but having the knowledge and exposure to such places might be the saving grace (pun intended).
