Back by popular demand, the Wasatch Camera Club has been invited to present another show at Gallery 24 in Torrey, Utah.
This year’s theme is all about the detail.

This exhibition gathers photographs made in close conversation with the deserts, canyons, and high plains of the West: towering rock formations, slot canyons that narrow to a single shaft of sky, and sagebrush flats. The images gathered here are not the postcard views. Each image reflects purposeful attention to the small miracles found in the vastness of great landscapes.
Rather than the sweeping vista, we find the detail: mineral streaks down a canyon wall, a paw print in sand, the architecture of shadow inside a slot no wider than a doorway. In choosing intimacy over grandeur, these images ask viewers to stay, to look longer, to let scale reveal itself slowly rather than all at once. This collection features attention to the particular, unrepeatable conditions of a brief moment, a casual bend in a wash, a fleeting streak of light across stone that will look different tomorrow and different again in a hundred years.
About the show
The show will run October 10 – December 31. Finished framed images should be no larger than 24″ on the long edge and must have a cleat or wire for hanging. The space can accommodate approximately 25-30 prints. Prints may be for sale, or marked as NFS at the artist’s choice. Items must be dropped off no later than October 3. We will attempt to arrange transport for images from Salt Lake City, but this cannot be guaranteed.
Photographers may submit two images for judging, and must use the filename protocol: Lastname_Firstname_Image_Title. An example is Doe_Jane_Floating_Leaf. Be sure to change the filename using this format.
